The
name "Bugs" Bower is synonymous with
the term "hit". Dr. Bower's
fame and fast-paced life started as a student
at the Juilliard School of
Music. There, he authored his first set of music
books "Chords and Progression" and
"Rhythms", taught his first student
Johnny Mandell (composer of the M*A*S*H* TV
theme and "The Shadow of our Smile"),
and made his first set of hit recordings "Itsy
Bitsy, Teeny Weeny, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini".
The
recipient of nine Gold Record Milion Seller
Awards and two Grammy
awards,"Bugs" has arranged and produced
hundreds of children's recordings,including
"You're a Good Man Charlie Brown",
"Dr. Doolittle", "Oliver","Just
so Stories", "Cinderella", "Winnie
the Pooh", "The Playskool Series","Huckleberry
Finn" and "Tom Sawyer". A roster
of famous artists he has worked with and written
for includes Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Joe Pesci,
Lisa Minnelli, Steve Allen, and Captain Kangaroo.
Currently,
Dr. Bower is a professor of Music at Five Towns
College, Dix
Hills, New York.
